What Is Chiropractic & How Our Clinic Helps You Heal
What is Chiropractic
A lot of people come into our clinic with neck or back pain. That’s commonly what people see chiropractors for, but we do so much more than that. Chiropractic works with the brain and the spinal cord. The brain controls every single function in the body, every muscle that contracts, digestion, your heart beating, chemical responses, and more.
These responses all have a purpose and balance that stems from your nervous system. If there is a misalignment in the spine, which houses the nervous system, that communication downstream from the spine to the organ system can be delayed or there can be interference. To correct the misalignment in your joints, can perform adjustments, which can be very gentle, to get movement in the area and realign your bones. By getting movement, we can restore the space where that nerve leads and communicates with that muscle, tissue, or that organ. This helps to restore the balance in our body and allow it to communicate and heal a lot faster.
With adjustments, sure, we see neck pain and back pain go away, but we also see other conditions become resolved. When we adjust the lower back we help the nerves that feed the intestines and we see your digestion get better. After back adjustments, we hear patients say that their reflux isn’t as bad, or a pain they had in their liver area is improving. We see a lot more healing in the body than just back and neck pain.
We also help a lot of kids by resolving ear infections, constipation, and colic. We see a lot of adults for reflux. We work extremities, such as elbows, wrists, fingers, ankles and toes. So there’s more than just back and neck pain that we can heal. Chiropractic, overall, helps restore the balance in your nervous system not just reducing pain.
